What is TLS 1.2 and how do I enable it?

TLS (Transport Layer Security) encrypts the communication between an app or web browser and a server over a network to prevent eavesdropping and tampering of data. Our infrastructure currently supports TLS 1.2 to ensure that our security is in line with today's internet security standards. 

While most browsers support TLS 1.2 natively, some versions of Internet Explorer (IE) will require that you enable it. 

What Browsers Support TLS 1.2 Natively

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • IE 11

What Versions of Internet Explorer Require TLS 1.2 To Be Enabled

  • IE 8
  • IE 9
  • IE 10

How Do I Enable TLS 1.2 on IE?

  1. From the Tools area of your browser, select Internet Options
  2. Click on the Advanced tab
  3. In the list that displays, select the checkbox for TLS 1.2
  4. Deselect the checkbox for SSL 3.0 from this same list
  5. Click on Apply to enable
