# Setting Up Payflow Pro As Your Payment Gateway for Core Registration

### Connecting Payflow Pro To EventMobi
To connect Payflow Pro as a payment gateway for your EventMobi events, follow these steps:
- Select the **Payment Gateways** option in the menu of your organization.
- Click **Add Connection**.
- Input a **Name** to reference your payment gateway in your Experience organization.
- Select **Payflow Pro** from the **Gateway** dropdown menu.
- Type in the **username** for your Payflow Pro account into the **Vendor Value **field.
- Input the **password **for your Payflow Pro account into the **Password **field.
- Type **PayPal** into the **Partner** field.
- Click on **Add Connection**.
**Having issues?** Make sure you've entered "PayPal" exactly as shown below. The spelling needs to match the example to work correctly.
- Select **Add Connection** to save your setup.
- Refer to the **Status **area to confirm that your payment gateway is **Active**.
**See an Inactive Status?** Check the status of your credentials using the **Check Status** option in the Experience platform. If the status remains **Inactive**, you can try updating the status again later, or you will need to create a new gateway and repeat the steps above.
### Link the Gateway to Your Event
After connecting your payment gateway at the organization level, follow these steps to link it to your event:
1. Open the **Experience Manager**.
2. Go to your event and select **Registration** from the menu.
3. Click into **Registration Details**.
4. Navigate to the **Payment Settings** tab.
5. Choose the appropriate payment gateway from the **Gateway** dropdown menu.
Your gateway is now linked to this event and ready to be used for paid tickets.
### How To Test Your Payment Gateway
An actual payment must be processed to test your payment gateway. We recommend creating a ticket with a small fee (example: $1.00) to test, and then registering with a credit card.
Once the registration payment has been processed, you can initiate a refund from your payment gateway.
### Managing Payments and Refunds from Payflow Pro
All refunds for registration fees must be processed directly from your Payflow Pro account. The instructions below outline how to view transaction records and process refunds.
- Select the **Activity **option at the top of your Payflow Pro account.
- Click on **Transactions** and select **All Transactions**.
- Use the **Search** and **Filter** options to find the transaction you want to refund.
- In the transaction, click on **Issue Refund.**
- Input the amount you want to refund into the **Refund **field and select **Issue Refund** to complete this action.
### Understanding Payflow Pro's Response Codes
Payflow Pro uses response codes to indicate the status of a request. You can find a detailed list on [Payflow Pro's Developer page](https://developer.paypal.com/api/nvp-soap/payflow/integration-guide/transaction-responses/#credit-card-transaction-responses), but some response codes to take note of are:
- **0: **Approved
- **12: **Declined
- **23:** Invalid account number
